Nutrition

A new feature created by Jackie Bernico. Jackie is taking a break from speedskating while focusing a little more intensely on her education. She has accepted our offer to become a intern with the ASE program as she continues on in school! Jackie skated with the ASE Program the past several years. As a junior she made the US Junior World Long Track Team and as a neo-senior she won the AmCup All-around points title for the 2016-17 season. Jackie was so inspired by the nutrition information she learned about through the program, she changed schools and majors to study the subject in college. After majoring in nutrition, Jackie has decided to direct her education towards the nursing field. In her internship, Jackie will be sharing her nutrition expertise as an athlete and student of the subject with us each week through the ASE website. She will also be assisting the coaches in coaching, working with the athletes, and, she will also be creating and maintaining a database of internships and part-time jobs for athletes in the program. Please reach out to her with feedback and feel free to let her know what specific info you want to see or questions you may have on the subject. Welcome to your new role Jackie! And, thank you!

During the skating season the Nutrition feature will transition to twice a month. Stay tuned for the next post by Oct 15th!
