New Short Track Padding System Arrives At The Pettit Today!

Published June 19th, 2018 by Carl Cepuran

Very excited to report we welcomed a full semi-trailer of new short track pads today! The pads, made possible through the generous gift of an anonymous donor, represent the latest in safety padding protection, designed and built to specs created through research in Canada, and, used widely in the Quebec and Canadian short track world. The experience in usage so far in Canada reports a significant reduction in injuries where they are used. The donor believes in the quality and potential of the ASE program, and wanted to support it by addressing it’s most pressing need – bringing the short track padding up to an elite level standard for training and competitionnew pads. This padding system brings us vastly closer to the performance of a boardless system than anything else available and helps set the ASE and Pettit apart as a top training center for speedskating in both short track or long track in North America.
