Bike the Milwaukee Mile this Wednesday evening, June 13th!

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to cycle on the Milwaukee Mile racetrack which is on the State Fair Park grounds adjacent to the Pettit Center. We hope to continue this use of the Mile, so encourage your training partners and bike riding friends to come out and support this event. The riders who participated so far say the one mile closed loop is a great venue to cycle and are excited to return. Here are some additional details below.

Subject: Milwaukee Mile Cycling Nights

Hello ASE Coaches,
I wanted to let you know about a few opportunities for your skaters to bike on the Milwaukee Mile this summer, if you choose to incorporate this additional option into your regular programming.
The Wisconsin Bike Fed and State Fair Park are hosting cycling nights on a few select Wednesdays beginning at 4pm over the next month. Here are the details:
Dates: Wednesdays May 30th, June 6 and June 13. Visit the Wisconsin State Fair Park for more information, but most details are listed below.
Velocause Centraal Practice Crits & TT’s
Timeline:
4:00pm                    Registration Opens
4:00 – 4:30pm        Course is Open for Practice
4:30 – 5:00pm        Juniors (under 19 years old)
5:00 – 5:30pm        Women’ Open (all categories)
5:30 – 6:15pm        Cat 4-5.
6:15 – 7:15pm         Cat 1/2/3
7:15 – 8:00pm        Individual 1 mile TT’s (start 30 seconds apart. no drafting allowed)
8:00 – 8:30pm       4 person, 2 mile TT’s
General Information:
-Juniors are free
-All other classes are $15 (daily fee, not per class and includes TT’s)
-Juniors can also enter Cat 4-5 Races
-Women can also race one category lower (i.e. Cat 3 women can race women’s race as well as Cat 4-5)
-Criteriums will utilize oval well as infield road course
-TT’s will be on the oval only
-Open riding will be permitted during the races on the outer 3rd of the oval for warm up and pace line practice.
-Neutral support will be provided by Ben’s Cycle
-Held under USAC permit
-Entry fee includes USAC Insurance and WCA surcharge
-Riders without USA Cycling racing license must purchase either a 1 day ($10) or annual license.
-Helmets must be worn while riding
-This is practice and training. No scoring or prizes will be awarded
-Profit from these races will be donated to multiple “causes”
Parking $6 per vehicle/ $3 per motorcycle
